Ash Series 1: Confrontations: The Lone Offender
[Pastel, biro and pencil on colourwashed paper]

In this picture Ash is depicted as a mess of blackness, squares for jaws, her hair and tongue taking a medusa-like snake quality. This symbolises the poison in her veins. Her ears do not listen. She confronts the alien outsider, who is paralysed by her venom. A square of hers is held by the throat behind her, square gradually morphing to a gravestone head as he/she has obviously wronged one of her fascist rules. She holds her own leash, though the possibility of someone having the ability to take it from her and yank it til her tiny head explodes with the constriction is implied. She has three arms, like a spider who's had a few snapped off. She wears a dull robotic-style business suit to demonstrate the uniformity and dullness of her order. The background is a pale insignificant rainbow, washed out by Ash's authoritarian censorship of anything bright or pretty.
